The 2017 nine-month, eighteen-event MotoGP World Championship runs from March 26, through November 12 at the Losail Circuit in Qatar, concluding at the Spanish Valencia Circuit.
This year’s competition sees Marchesini forged magnesium wheels used by the majority of the teams in the premier bike racing series.
Brembo (headquartered near Bergamo, Italy), international leading designer and producer of braking systems, and brake supplier to all of the MotoGP riders, is supplying 12 riders with forged 17” magnesium wheels, weighing about 6 kg per pair.
Marchesini is a Brembo group brand, specializing in manufacturing sophisticated forged magnesium and aluminum wheels for cars and motorcycles. Brembo is the proprietor of the Brembo, Breco, Bybre and Marchesini brands and also sells products under the AP Racing brand. Brembo is also partnered with SMW Wheels, a worldwide leading manufacturer of light, super strong forged magnesium wheels for cars and competition motor bikes.
To date, all of the 13 Qatar GP races have been won by MotoGP bikes with Brembo brakes. Yamaha has tallied seven victories, followed by Ducati and Honda, each with three wins. Riders Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi have each taken first place four times.
